Do you speak the language of your candidates?
Read through my post and save yourself much money and valuable time for your next campaign.
People in general often assume to know what candidates think, feels and how they talk.
Based on this assumptions they plan their attack on the job market. The CEO invest a lot of money in high-qualified marketing guys or other tech-geeks. Only to find out that the campaign is not working as expected.
After a while, the person in charge starts blaming the crew and marketing geeks are tweaking the copy. The campaign is on a negative spiral, and the team begins to contain the damage.
However, the real problem is way deeper. The foundation was built on false assumptions.
The dog on the picture listens carefully to the monkey which starts talking about "How to become a tracker".
The dog knows after the first sentence that that is weird.
The same way feels the candidate when people assume to know their language.
Before starting a new campaign, there are two simple rules which help you save a lot of trouble:
- Don't make any Assumption
- Ask
Best,
Ben
PS: Next time, I will show you how to build your own "Ask the Candidates Campaign" online.
